THE BANK WAS BIG, THE BANK WAS STRONG

The Bank was Big,
The Bank was Strong,
The Bank was Never In The Wrong.

It fleeced its customers with charges,
Closed down all its local branches,
Paid its Top Cats Greed-O-Money
(Made foreign loans that went all funny),
Cherry-picked to keep the poor out
(Of that there isn't any doubt),
Kept queues up high, staff numbers low
(The internet's where you MUST go)
Swanned around with loads of cash
But somehow made a complete hash
Of turning in a decent profit
(Those immoral loans had surely cost it) -
Spent millions on its advertising
(Though nothing changed, expensive lying),
Lent only on security it cashed in far too easily,

Bloated, crass, it did its worst -
Led by the bumbling grey Accursed.

Banks are wonderful places run by wonderful people. No, really!

Here's a great humorous poem about banks by Ogden Nash called Bankers Are Just Like Anybody Else, Except Richer
